Kari Huhtamo – Variatio Arctica Sculptura18. May - 13. June

Kari Huhtamo (b. 1943 in Rovaniemi, Finland) is a sculptor whose primary material has since the 1970s been stainless acid-resistant steel. He has created several public sculptures. Except for one piece, the exhibition in Kunsthalle Helsinki consists entirely of new works by Huhtamo from 2009 and 2010.

His exhibition Variatio Arctica Sculptura was presented at the State Tretyakov
Gallery in Moscow in autumn 2009. It was the first exhibition by a Finnish artist at the Tretyakov Gallery.

In addition to elegant steel sculptures, Huhtamo’s classic signature pieces, the exhibition also includes photographs and art prints – the artist’s latest works, which have never before been seen in Finland.
